We are seeking a Family Educator to provide quality comprehensive, center/home-based child/family support services for infants/toddlers and preschoolers and their families for the Head Start program in the King County area. This position involves direct care and instruction for children ages 4-weeks to 5-years in family child care.

The PSESD serves 35 school districts and more than 200 private schools in King and Pierce counties plus Bainbridge Island in Kitsap County. Approximately 38 percent of the state’s K-12 public school students are impacted by our work and several of our programs serve students throughout the state.

Qualifications
• AA or BA in Early Childhood Education, OR an AA or BA in a related field (Elementary Education, Child Development, Special Education, Human Development, Child & Family Studies) and at least 18 college quarter credits in ECE, OR an AA or BA in any field plus at least 25 college quarter credits in ECE. (PSESD requires an unofficial transcript as part of the application, and an official transcripts upon hire, for degrees and certificates).
• Experience in early childhood education or child and family development programs serving pregnant women, infants, toddlers, and/or preschool-aged children, and direct experience in teaching and caring for infants and toddlers in a preschool classroom, family child care center or other group setting. (Experience teaching infants, toddlers and preschoolers in a classroom or family child care setting is required)

Other: Experience with low-income families with young children, or providing health, nutrition, child development and parenting education to families desired. Previous experience working with children and families in a home visiting program a plus.
