This includes increasing the number of books available to families with young children, improved training opportunities for care providers of young children, supporting Reach Out and Read efforts, and increased access to information and training on early literacy for parents of young children.  This program has a special emphasis on providing resources and support to remote and rural areas of Clallam, Jefferson and North Mason counties.&lt;/p&gt;&#10;&#10;&#9;&lt;p&gt;Essential Job Functions: &lt;br /&gt;&#10;1.&#9;Create a system to develop and support multiple literacy efforts that meet individual needs and traditions of local communities, tribal nations, school districts and that build a related and coordinated literacy understanding across our four Coalition counties.&lt;br /&gt;&#10;2.&#9;Coordinate and/or order materials, organize and/or provide training, and provide support for each Ready! for Kindergarten program.&lt;br /&gt;&#10;3.&#9;Work with Coalition members, local communities and others identified to order books for the regional book distribution, and assure that books are distributed according to the Culture of Literacy plan.&lt;br /&gt;&#10;4.&#9;Organize the book basket development and distribution, and assure follow up at each placement to refurbish and maintain baskets.&lt;br /&gt;&#10;5.&#9;Collaborate with local Culture of Literacy activities to identify on-going funding sources to support the activity beyond the Culture of Literacy funding.&lt;br /&gt;&#10;6.&#9;Provide monthly outcomes and progress reports at Coalition meetings.&lt;br /&gt;&#10;7.&#9;Serve as point of contact and liaison between Coalition and Reach Out and Read.&lt;br /&gt;&#10;8.&#9;Assist in coordinating the Thrive By Five evaluation of Culture of Literacy program effectiveness.&lt;br /&gt;&#10;9.&#9;Develop and broaden key partnerships including pediatricians, tribal nations, military, literacy councils, local schools, public libraries, early learning programs, parent education groups and others.&lt;br /&gt;&#10;10.&#9;In cooperation with our multiple partners, create and implement a system of positive communication and coordination to improve the awareness of new and existing literacy services and activities throughout our region honoring the diversity of each individual remote and rural area and participating community.&lt;br /&gt;&#10;11.&#9;Build and manage a system of identifying ways to track, monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of each literacy activity (from both a local and regional perspective) and the overall effectiveness of the Coalition in developing a grassroots approach to changing the culture of literacy in our Coalition area.&lt;br /&gt;&#10;12.&#9;Assist in coordinating with the Nurturing Children’s Creativity art exhibits project.&lt;/p&gt;&#10;&#10;&#9;&lt;p&gt;Other Job Functions:&lt;br /&gt;&#10;1.&#9;Attend meetings and trainings as required.&lt;br /&gt;&#10;2.&#9;Perform other duties as assigned.&lt;/p&gt;&#10;&#10;&#9;&lt;p&gt;Qualifications:&lt;br /&gt;&#10;Required Education and Experience:  &lt;br /&gt;&#10;1.&#9;BA or BS in early childhood education, community development or related field with 2 years experience in areas related to the Essential Job Functions&#10;&#9;&amp;#8212;OR&amp;#8212;
