full time Infant and Toddler Coordinator Assistant: Two Positions

at Olympic Educational Service District 114 in Bremerton, WA

Job Summary:
Provide technical assistance and support, and coordinate interdisciplinary infant and toddler services to licensed child care providers in the Kitsap and Olympic Peninsula area as outlined by the Department of Early Learning (DEL) Infant and Toddler Regional Interdisciplinary Services project. The Coalition Infant and Toddler Steering Committee in partnership with the supervisor define the model for services, and this position works directly with child care providers at the direction of the supervisor to deliver the services and meet all required standards and regulations.

Essential Job Functions:
1. Provide technical assistance and support to licensed infant – toddler child care providers that are consistent with the Quality Rating and Improvement Systems (QRIS) standards of care.
2. Conduct the Infant and Toddler Environmental Rating scale (ITERS) and the Toddler Classroom Assessment Scoring System (CLASS) assessment in partnership with providers and make referrals to consultant services.
3. Assure the Infant and Toddler Interdisciplinary Consultation services meet the individual needs and traditions of the local communities, tribal nations, school districts and support the routines of the families and children.
4. Attend steering committee meetings.
5. Coordinate and order materials that are needed as a result of the findings of the ITERS and CLASS assessments and consultant observation.
6. Provide training both on and off site and with large and small groups.
7. Maintain regular contact with supervisor.
8. Provide monthly outcomes and progress reports to supervisor and Coalition Infant and Toddler Steering Committee.
9. Serve as the single point of contact for providers to receive consultation and other community resources.
10. Track, monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of Infant and Toddler consultation using the DEL outcomes framework as a guide.
11. Develop a resource list of available infant and toddler resources that are in line with the QRIS standards of care.

Other Job Functions:
1. Perform other duties as assigned.
2. Participate in meetings and trainings as assigned.
3. Complete and maintain required reports and records.

Qualifications:
Required Education and Experience:
1. Associate’s Degree with emphasis in early childhood education (or equivalent) and a minimum of four years experience working in a prenatal infant toddler program.

Preferred Education and Experience
1. Bachelors degree in Early Childhood or Child Development or related field and a minimum one year experience working in a prenatal, infant and toddler program.
2. Experience with infant and toddler Assessment Tools.
3. Experience in coaching and working collaboratively with Adults.


Required Skills, Knowledge and/or Abilities:
1. Good Human Relations
2. Good time management, able to work independently.
3. Understanding and or experience with child care licensing.
4. Knowledge or community resources available for infant and toddler providers.
5. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
6. Awareness of health and safety issues for caring for infants and toddlers.
7. Demonstrate knowledge of child development specifically infants and toddlers; experience working with infants and toddlers and their parents including the importance of respecting routines of parents and children.
8. Experience in coaching and working collaboratively with providers.
9. Reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license and insurance.
10. Basic word processing and computer skills.
11. Ability to work evenings and weekends.

Working Environment:
The usual and customary methods of performing the job’s functions require the following conditions:

• Frequent: talking & hearing (communicating with personnel/kids, telephone), vision (reading, computer monitor), handling paperwork, moderate noise (office with computers, printers, light traffic).
• Occasional: standing, walking, sitting, driving, kneeling/squatting/crawling, reaching above the shoulder, lifting
up to 50 pounds, carrying, pushing/pulling, repetitive motion (computer keyboard, calculator, telephone keypad), climbing (stairs), , use of personal computer/fax machine/calculator/phone, looking at computer monitor, color vision (identify and distinguish colors), peripheral/depth perception, ability to adjust focus, very quiet noise level.
