Training Program Coordinator
The Washington State Child Care Resource & Referral Network (CCR&R Network) is a statewide 501(c)(3) organization created in 1989 to establish a strong, community-based infrastructure for integrated early childhood and school-age care and education support services in Washington State. The CCR&R Network is a public/private partnership and system of 11 local child care resource and referral (CCR&R) member programs established in statute by the Washington State Legislature in 1986.
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The Training Program Coordinator (Coordinator) will oversee a two-year project to provide training through the CCR&R system to all licensed family and seasonal child care providers and license-exempt caregivers receiving child care subsidies from the Washington State Department of Social and Health Services. The Coordinator will also provide technical assistance to local CCR&R staff and trainers. This is a full-time position reporting to the Member Services Director.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Training Program Coordinator responsibilities shall include, but not be limited to:
• Work with subcontractor(s) to develop provider and caregiver training curricula in multiple languages to be delivered in person, online and through distance learning modalities;
• Coordinate and staff the Training Advisory Group consisting of state, union and CCR&R participants to ensure the accuracy and appropriateness of the training content and delivery methods;
• Develop and maintain positive working relationships with key stakeholders, including participating in related meetings and events;
• Oversee development of Train-the-Trainer materials and coordinate Train-the-Trainer events;
• Coordinate and oversee training implementation efforts of the 11 local child care resource and referral programs across the state, providing individual and group technical assistance as needed;
• Oversee the data system that tracks trainee participation and ensure accuracy of data input and reports;
• Develop and maintain expertise on child care subsidy policy in order to ensure that changes to the training materials are made as needed;
• Develop content for standard communication and outreach materials about the training;
• Develop and implement an evaluation system for the training that is aligned with the CCR&R Network’s evaluation framework and strategies.
• Coordinate with the Contracts Manager to ensure accurate and timely billing and reporting.
• Work with the Member Services Director and Contracts Manager to create and track the annual program budget.
• Contribute to the organization’s vision of integrated services to children and families by collaborating with CCR&R Network and local CCR&R program staff.
• Fulfill other duties as assigned
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
1. Bachelor's degree in early childhood education, education, human services, public administration, public health or related field.
2. Five years of program management or coordination, or related experience.
3. Effective interpersonal, written and oral communication skills and ability to work with individuals and groups in a collaborative style.
4. Demonstrated organization and time management skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
5. Ability to work effectively both independently and with minimal supervision.
6. Ability to devise solutions, develop and present recommendations and make decisions.
7. Intermediate to advanced skills with MS Office Suite including PowerPoint.
8. Intermediate skills with working in and reporting from databases.
9. Knowledge of budgets and grant management.
10. Willingness to work some evenings and weekends.
11. A strong commitment to diversity, cultural relevancy and inclusion.
12. Valid Washington State driver’s license, in-state travel required approximately one to two days per month.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Master’s degree in human services, public policy, public administration, business or related field
• Bilingual Spanish/English desired
• Experience coordinating the development of a training program from start-up to full implementation
• Experience in managing the development of curricula and training materials
• Familiarity with e-learning platforms
• Familiarity with child care subsidy policy
PAY RANGE, HOURS, BENEFITS:
The Training Program Coordinator is a full-time, exempt, benefits-eligible position. Salary DOQ within ranges established for similar positions by the CCR&R Network Board of Trustees.
